His Excellency Mr. Komate Kamalanavin, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of South Africa, led the Thai community in South Africa to pay homage to Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana and join a well-wishing ceremony on this auspicious occasion. The Thai community in South Africa also signed the book of well-wishes for Her Majesty the Queen's birthday. Approximately 40 Thai people in South Africa attended the ceremony.

In this auspicious occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy and Thai communities in South Africa also celebrated the day by doing good deeds. The Royal Thai Embassy and Thai communities jointly hand over the basic comforts such as nutritious diet, clothes, blankets and toiletries to Mercy House through Sister Colleen Wilkinson, the Director, and Sister Mary Mmushi, the Assistant Director at the organization.

Mercy House is a non-profit organization providing much needed shelter to the most vulnerable women in needs without discrimination in nationality, race or religious preference to ensure that those women will receive basic comforts of life and adequate professional care according to their needs. In this regard, His Excellency Mr. Komate also expressed his sincere appreciation for its close cooperation between Mercy House and the Royal Thai Embassy in providing a place of safety and accommodation especially to Thai women at the most critical juncture.
