On 10 August 2016, The Royal Thai Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa held a reception in celebration on the Auspicious Occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 7^th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 12 August 2016 at the Ambassador’s Residence, Pretoria. On this occasion,                    H.E. Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, led Embassy’s officials and the Thai community to pay homage and express humble wishes to Her Majesty the Queen.

To honor Her Majesty’s contribution in promoting Thai silk, the Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with the Department of Siriculture, showcased the top-quality Thai silk under the “Royal Peacock” logo, which has now become the certification mark of Thai silk standards.      

The Embassy also arranged a video portraying all masterpiece handicrafts which are produced by the local villagers, under the support of Her Majesty the Queen and elegantly displayed at the Arts of the Kingdom Museum at the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall in Bangkok.

About 200 guests, comprising diplomatic corps, public and private entities, local media as well as Thai community participated in this auspicious event.
