On 12 December 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Pretoria, in cooperation with the Dhammakaya Temple in Johannesburg, organized a Pannasomsawan (50th-day commemoration) merit-making ceremony in dedication to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, at the Dhammakaya Temple in Johannesburg.

H.E. Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat, Ambassador, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by officials of Team Thailand in Pretoria, together with their spouses, as well as representatives of the Thai community in South Africa.

Three monks from the Dhammakaya Temples in Johannesburg and Cape Town conducted the chanting of the Abhidhamma (funeral verses). On this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador performed the Phamsukula robe-offering, followed by the offering of meals and Sanghadana (alms dedicated to the monastic community).

The monks then delivered a sermon, led the participants in meditation, and dedicated the royal merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
