The Royal Thai Embassy in Pretoria held a wreath-laying ceremony to commemorate the Nawamintha Maharaj Day in remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great. H.E. Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of South Africa, presided over the ceremony, which was attended by the Embassy’s officials, Team Thailand members, and their spouses.
In his remarks, the Ambassador expressed profound reverence and gratitude for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great’s boundless benevolence and lifelong devotion to the people of Thailand. He also highlighted Thailand’s efforts to share His Majesty’s development approaches and the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) with friendly nations across Africa — through agricultural cooperation, community development, and sustainable resource management projects. These initiatives embody Thailand’s “Development Diplomacy,” inspired by His Majesty’s wisdom, and serve to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Thailand and African nations.
Participants paid homage and reflected upon His Majesty’s exemplary legacy as a monarch of wisdom, compassion, and tireless dedication to national development and unity.
