TOURIST VISA (TR)

        Tourist Visa (TR) may be granted to passengers for touristic purpose in Thailand.

Types of Tourist Visa and Validity:         

  • Single-Entry Tourist Visa: valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of visa issuance. The period of stay is 60 days maximum.
  • Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa: valid for entering Thailand multiple times within 6 months from the date of visa issuance. It allows the holder to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days per entry, adding up to 180 days maximum during visa validity.

Required documents:

1. Visa Application form(s) and photograph(s):two signed and completed Visa Application Forms dated at least 10 working days before the intended date of travel (Visa Application Form), as well as two recent photograph(s) (size 2x2 inch).

2. Passport(valid for no less than 6 months) to be submitted with a copy of the Passport

3. Copy of ID Document other than Passport (for example ID Card or Driving License)

4. Copy of Permanent Residence or other permit (if not a national of the country of residence)

5. Travel tickets  to and from Thailand

6. Evidence of adequate finance:

Single EntryAn original bank statement with an equivalent amount of not less than ZAR 11,000 (per person) for the last 3 months, or ZAR 22,000 per family. Must state bank contact information

Multiple Entry: An original bank statement with an equivalent amount of not less than ZAR 110,000 (per person) for the last 6 months, or ZAR 220,000 per family. Must state bank contact information.  

*For family members traveling together, documents showing family relation such as a copy of birth certificate or marriage certificate must be submitted.

7. Evidence of accommodation booking - proof of accommodation arrangement for the entire duration of the stay in Thailand.

8. Evidence of employment - Proof of employment in the country of residence in the form of a recently signed letter by an employer.

*If being unemployed, the applicants need to write and sign a letter to be attached to application stating that the applicants are unemployed and have sufficient funds to travel.

9. A Copy of Yellow fever vaccination card – for applicants from or have travelled to yellow fever infected areas.

10. Certified copy of unabridged birth certificate, certified original passport of ID of parents/legal guidance, and original letter of notarized consent for minor to travel abroad by parents/legal guidance (for minor under 20 years old).

11. Visa Application Fee (not include visa processing company’s fee) :

Single-Entry Visa: ZAR650 Multiple-Entry Visa: ZAR3,100

**The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to reject any visa application with insufficient documents or if the reasons given are not fully supported. The visa fee is non-refundable**

•  Date indicated at Enter Before is the last day you can use your visa to seek entry into Thailand. It is not the duration of stay in Thailand.
