TOURIST VISA (Medical Treatment - MT)

      Tourist Visa for Medical Treatment (MT) may be granted to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for medical treatments at hospitals or medical facilities in Thailand for 60 days or less per trip.

Types of Tourist Visa and Validity:         

  • Single-Entry Visa: valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of visa issuance. The period of stay is 60 days maximum.

 Required documents:

1. Visa Application form(s) and photograph(s): two signed and completed Visa Application Forms dated at least 10 working days before the intended date of travel (Visa Application Form), as well as two recent photograph(s) (size 2x2 inch).

2. Passport (valid for no less than 6 months) to be submitted with a copy of the Passport

3. Copy of ID Document other than Passport (for example ID Card or Driving License)

4. Copy of Permanent Residence or other permit (if not a national of the country of residence)

5. Travel ticketsto and from Thailand (Period of stay in Thailand not more than 60 days)

6. Evidence of adequate finance- An original bank statement covering a period of dating back 3 months which states bank contact information and equivalent amount of not less than ZAR 11,000 per person or ZAR 22,000 per family.   
*For family members traveling together, documents showing family relation such as a copy of birth certificate or marriage certificate must be submitted.

7. Evidence of accommodation booking - proof of accommodation arrangement for the entire duration of the stay in Thailand.

8. Evidence of employment - Proof of employment in the country of residence in the form of a recently signed letter by an employer.

*If being unemployed, the applicants need to write and sign a letter to be attached to application stating that the applicants are unemployed and have sufficient funds to travel. 

9. Letter issued by Hospital or Medical Facilities in Thailand – specifying medical purpose and duration of treatment.

10. A Copy of Yellow fever vaccination card – for applicants from or have travelled to yellow fever infected areas. *See: List of countries which require International Health Certificate for Yellow Fever Vaccination

11. Certified copy of unabridged birth certificate, certified original passport of ID of parents/legal guidance, and original letter of notarized consent for minor to travel abroad by parents/legal guidance (for minor under 20 years old).

12. Visa Application Fee (not include visa processing company’s fee) : Single-Entry Tourist Visa: ZAR600

**The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to reject any visa application with insufficient documents or if the reasons given are not fully supported. The visa fee is non-refundable**

    •  Date indicated at Enter Before is the last day you can use your visa to seek entry into Thailand. It is not the duration of stay in Thailand.
