NON-IMMIGRANT VISA-B / IB (WORKING)

           This page contains information on document requirement for applicants who wish to be employed in Thailand. Please check your eligibility to apply for visa at the Royal Thai Embassy, Pretoria,

Types and validity of Non-Immigrant Visa-B / IB:
       • Single-Entry: valid for 90 days from the date of visa issuance. Visa holders may contact the Immigration Bureau of Thailand, after entering Thailand, for the extension of stay and re-entry permit.

Required documents for Non-Immigrant Visa-B / IB applicants are as follows:

1. Visa Application form(s) and photograph(s) two signed and completed Visa Application Forms dated at least 10 working days before the intended date of travel (Visa Application Form), as well as two recent photograph(s) (size 2x2 inch).

2. Passport (valid for no less than 6 months) to be submitted with a copy of the Passport

3. Copy of ID Document other than Passport (for example ID Card or Driving License)

4. Copy of Permanent Residence or other permit (if not a national of the country of residence)

5. Business-related Documents:

     5.1 Invitation letter* from the employer in Thailand, indicating details of employment, including position, salary and length of contract (if any)

     5.2 Copy of Certificate of Thai Business Registration certificate issued by the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand / School Registration certificate issued by the Ministry of Education of Thailand (for school teachers)

     5.3 Approval Letter from the Ministry of Labour (WP3) issued by the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour, Mit-Maitree Road, Din-daeng District, Bangkok, Tel: +662-245-2745, (Japanese nationals are exempted from submitting this document, in accordance with JTEPA). Other documents which could be used to replace WP3 Approval Letter include a letter from the Board of Investment, universities, schools, international organisations, or charitable organisations.

     5.4 Additional requirements for special professions:

           5.4.1 School Teachers
                    - Curriculum vitae/resume

                    - An Original Police Clearance Certificate in English (valid for no less than 6 months)
                     - Evidence of qualification (e.g. university certificates) and evidence of previous employment (e.g. letter from previous company)
                    - A teaching license
                    - Applicants for private school’s teacher are also required to submit a letter from the Ministry of Education In Thailand

* Document issued by Non-Thai Authorities MUST be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of those countries prior to submission

            5.4.2 Professional Sport Players
                    - Evidence of previous overseas employment must be in English and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country or relevant authorities

                    - An Original Police Clearance Certificate (valid for no less than 6 months) in English issued by relevant authority of the country in which the applicants had previous residency.

* Document issued by Non-Thai Authorities MUST be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of those countries prior to submission

     5.6 Letter issued by the Board of Investment of Thailand (for the Non-IB Visa)

6. A copy of flight ticket(s).

7. Evidence of accommodation booking - proof of accommodation arrangement for the entire duration of the stay in Thailand.

8. Dependents Applicant’s family members, namely; spouse, parents or children who are unmarried and under 20 years old, are eligible to apply for Single-Entry Non-Immigrant O-visa. Required documents are the same as required documents for Non-Immigrant B-visa plus marriage certificate and birth certificate (Document issued by Non-Thai Authorities MUST be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of those countries prior to submission).

9. Copy of Yellow fever vaccination card – for applicants from or have travelled to yellow fever infected areas. *See: List of countries which require International Health Certificate for Yellow Fever Vaccination

10. Visa Application Fee (not include visa processing company’s fee) :Single-Entry Visa: ZAR1,250 Multiple-Entry Visa: ZAR6,000

11. Other documents: as may be requested by Consular officers in addition to the documents above. Please note that Consular officers reserve the right to require additional documents, or an interview, as deemed necessary, without prior notice.

The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right not to accept any visa application whereby any required document is absent. If the above procedures are not completed, the official will not proceed with your application.

**The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to reject any visa application with insufficient documents or if the reasons given are not fully supported. The visa fee is non-refundable**

All documents: Documents in languages other than Thai or English have to be translated into either Thai or English and notarised by notary organs or relevant diplomatic/consular missions.
