In accordance with the new requirements announced by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) dated 19 March 2020 on Practical Guideline for Air Operators with flights into the Kingdom of Thailand, The Royal Thai Embassy, Pretoria, would like to announce new requirements which will affect all foreign nationals travelling to the Kingdom of Thailand, effective from 22 March 2020, 00.00 hrs. (Thailand Local Time) onward.
According to the CAAT requirements, all foreign nationals travelling to the Kingdom of Thailand from 22 March 2020, 00.00 hrs. onward are required to present the following documents to the air operator before embarking on the flight.
1. A health certificate indicating that the passenger poses no risk of being infected by the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) issued less than 72 hours prior to the travel date.
2. A health insurance/ travel insurance policy that covers COVID-19 Disease that shows minimum medical coverage of 100,000 USD in Thailand.
According to the CAAT announcement, a passenger who is unable to present the required documents may be denied boarding pass and boarding of the aircraft by the air operator.
