H.E. Mr. Voradet Viravakin,  Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Surasak Suparat, Minister and the Consul of the Royal Thai Embassy together with the Thai community in Johannesburg participated in the activity to mark the beginning of the Buddhist lent at the Johannesburg Meditation Center (JMC) on 12 July 2014.  The Ambassador and the officials from the Royal Thai Embassy joined the Thai Buddhist community in making offerings to the Thai monks as well as molding candles.  In addition, the Ambassador and the officials joined the lunch event and took the opportunity to socialise with the Thai community as part of the Embassy’s policy to support and strengthen the Thai community in South Africa.
