From 2016-2018, there have been over 100 reported cases of fraudulent entities posing as legitimate companies in Thailand to trick foreign businesses outside Thailand to transfer money for non-existent goods. Recently, a certain entity disguised to be registered in Thailand by Yemeni businessmen and exposed as a fraudulent company. These cases are often the work of transnational criminals who seeks to exploit the credibility of Thai businesses and Thailand as a whole.

In this regards, the Royal Thai Embassy, Pretoria, strongly suggest that companies considering trading with Thai businesses, to contact the Office of Commercial Affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy, to verify the legitimacy of prospective trading partners and to obtain additional information that will further support and facilitate trading with companies in Thailand.
