On 17 January 2022, Mr. Natthakit Singto, First Secretary and Mr. Nontasit Kaewhanam, First Secretary of the Royal Thai Embassy in Pretoria, donated pairs of Muay Thai shorts and Muay Thai T-shirts to Tiger Dragon Muay Boran Fight Gym in Pretoria. The latter will distribute such clothing to their gyms under Muay Boran South Africa Association.

In recent years, Muay Thai has gained more popularity across the world including in South Africa. It is an aim that the Royal Thai Embassy in Pretoria continuously supports our national sport both in South Africa and its accredited countries. In 2021, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has officially recognised Muay Thai and the International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (IFMA), which will pave the way for Muay Thai to be accepted in global sporting events in the future, such as Olympic Games.
