On 30 October 2025, at 9.30 hours, a Buddhist Seven-Day Funeral Rite was held at Phra Dhammakaya Temple of Johannesburg to dedicate royal merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The ceremony was presided over by Phra Khru Bhawanakhunvithet V., Abbot of the Dhammakaya Temple in Johannesburg, and H.E. Mr. Ekapol Poolpipat, Ambassador. Officials of Team Thailand and staff members of the Royal Thai Embassy in Pretoria, together with representatives of the Thai community in South Africa, attended the ceremony.
 
The religious observance included the offering of a royal tribute before the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother; the chanting of the Abhidhamma (funeral verses); meditation practice dedicated as a royal merit; and the offering of alms and requisites to the monastic community. The participants attended the ceremony in a serene and reverent atmosphere, reflecting upon and expressing their deep gratitude for Her Majesty’s boundless compassion and gracious benevolence.
